Outdoor 2014 Recap/Training for Marathons

Well it has been quite an interesting last Outdoor season for me.  The first race was at Wash U in St Louis, Missouri, ran the 5k.  It was so great racing, I felt really good, end up with a PR- 16:32.  The next race was at our home meet (Platteville), raced the 5k, wasn't the best, the conditions were nice, but too nice, it was humid & sticky,  didn't want to over do it, basically try to finish the race & not get heat exhaustion, ended up with a 16:55.  Then the 10k finally arrived at Augustana- Rock Island, IL.  It was a perfect night for it, no wind at all, perfect conditions.  Started off great, at 16:35 first half of the race, I was feeling really good, at the last half, I was starting to feel the pain, I knew I had to keep pushing & grinding, I did just that, I ended up with a 33:21.  It was the best 10k I ran in my collegiate career & was so happy.  Koncked 2 minutes 14 seconds off, it was a great race.  Then I ran my last race as a Pioneer Track & Field member, raced the 5k, windy but not as bad, but ended up with 16:45, better than what I ran at home meet.  It's sad that my collegiate running career is over, but want to thank my teammates & coaches for being a part of a great track & field program & giving me the opportunity, it has been one heck of a ride (3 years).  Offically an Alum for Cross Country & Track & Field.  Now is taking some time off then get ready to do some marathons.  Always when it comes to practices & race, always go for greatness, it can lead you a long way & I continue to do that when I start to train & race marathons.
